Walled City Music is delighted to welcome talented young pianists from across the world to Derry for the 2026 Walled City Music International Academy, taking place from 10–18 July.

Led by Academy Founder and Director Cathal Breslin, the Academy offers an intensive programme of lessons, masterclasses, performances and professional development opportunities with an outstanding international faculty. This year’s faculty includes Thérèse Fahy, Svetozar Ivanov, Chi Wu and Ksenia Nosikova, alongside special guest faculty members Barry Douglas and Kathryn Stott, who will each deliver exclusive masterclasses during their time at the Academy.

Throughout the week, participants will perform in a series of public and community events across the city, culminating in the Walled City Music International Piano Competition on Friday 17 July. The competition provides a platform for emerging pianists to showcase their artistry before an audience and distinguished panel of judges.

The Academy also offers audiences the opportunity to hear concerts given by its visiting faculty and guest artists, bringing together internationally renowned musicians for a series of exceptional performances throughout the week. These events form a key part of Walled City Music’s commitment to bringing world-class classical music experiences to the North West.

A full programme of concerts, masterclasses and public events, along with ticket information, will be announced soon.

To be among the first to hear about Academy events, concert announcements and ticket releases, sign up to the Walled City Music mailing list or follow Walled City Music on social media.

As preparations continue, Walled City Music looks forward to welcoming students, faculty and audiences for another inspiring celebration of music-making in the heart of the city.
