The Walled City Music Festival invites score submissions for a composer workshop as part of the 2022 Walled City Music Festival programme.
Up to 3 places are available to participate and composers are asked to submit compositions for percussion quartet (instrument list supplied). The new compositions, which should be no longer than 4 minutes in length, will be workshopped by the quartet with guest facilitator Andy Akiho (composer/steel pan), one of the USA’s leading percussionists. The workshop will be open to the public.
For more information on Sandbox Percussion and Andy Akiho please visit their websites at:
Scores are to be submitted no later than Friday 10th June. Composers should include a short CV along with a brief paragraph as to why they would like to participate in this workshop. Please send scores and information to firstname.lastname@example.org. Composers are expected to write for all four players in the ensemble. Composers can write a 4-minute “piece”, or submit 4 minutes of sketches/textures/sections. It could just be ideas that you want to hear and work out with the ensemble.
